Annapurna Base Camp Trek – Route Overview

Nayapul or Birethanti is original trek start point for Annapurna Base Camp Trek. However, Nepal Hiking Himalaya takes you further towards Hille on private jeep as the road is dusty and crowded. It is not memorable to walk on the motorway during the trekking.

Trekkers travel to Hille on Jeep. Walking is from Hille to Ulleri on 1st day of ABC Trek. The route is simple and easy with magnificent scenery of terraced farmlands and surrounding hills.

Trekkers are tested on the second day. This day is completely uphill walking for almost 6 hours towards Ghorepani. Though the uphill trekking can be treacherous the scenery and green lush forests environment keeps you motivated. Ghorepani is the first town/village on Annapurna Trek with great Himalayan perspective.

Trekkers take the early morning hike of about 45 minutes before sunrise to Poon Hill (3210m). Experience the sunrise from such a vantage point.

We get spectacular vista of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Himchuli etc. Trekkers then follow the trail full of green lush forests, narrow valleys, rivers and hamlets to Annapurna Base Camp. Places like Tadapani, Chhomrung and Himalaya are used as the overnight rest places.

Annapurna Base Camp

Walking on Machhapuchhre Base Camp before reaching the base camp of Annapurna is another event to capture. Relish every moment while at Annapurna Base Camp. It is probably the most serene place on the earth. ABC Trek evolves even more while you return. Places like Dovan and Jhinu are the resting point for the overnight.

Observe Nepalese culture and traditions. Witness the Himalayan beauty. Encounter the great natural wonders of Nepal.

Jhinu is the place for final celebration. Enjoy the local delicacies and folk songs with the crew members and local people. Trekkers will then walk for about 3.5 hours to reach Siwai from Jhinu. They will take the jeep to Pokhara.
