Trekkers embark on the journey of Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake from Kathmandu in a private vehicle to Syangje. Galloping through hilly off roads would undoubtedly offer peculiar experience for the most of the foreigners. Walking starts from Syangje and reaches Manang village passing by places like Dharapani, Chame and Pisang.
High altitude trekking requires proper acclimatization. Trekkers will take acclimatization break in Manang by strolling around the place. Observation of people and their lifestyle adds different dimension to this adventure trekking in Nepal. From Manang trekkers take route of Sirikharka to reach Tilicho Lake. This lake is known as highest situated Lake of Nepal at height of 4919 m without aquatic animals in it.
The trail is not strenuous but could be challenging because of the narrow passage towards Tilicho.
From Tilicho Base Camp trekkers return back to Sirikharka. Traversing through grassy meadows meant for yak grazing trekkers finally reach Thorong Phedi. The day of crossing Thorong La Pass is quite iconic. Most of the people who know about Nepal always cherish the Thorong crossing. From top of Thorong Pass one can get panoramic mountain vistas.
On the other side of this pass lays the mystical lower Mustang region. Explore Hindu Salvation temple of Muktinath depicting Lord Vishnu with Mt. Neelgiri on backdrop is really a sight to behold. Explore the nunnery, ever flame and temple before descending Jomsom via Kagbeni. This windiest town of Nepal situated on the bank of Kaligandaki River is the ending point of Annapurna Circuit Trek Tilicho Lake journey.
Flight from Jomsom will take travelers to Lake City Pokhara. All pains endured during trekking in such detour can be relieved in this vibrant Lake city.
This is probably the most crowded and popular trekking route of Nepal followed by the Annapurna Round Trek and Everest Base Camp Trekking at Everest region. Trekkers will have an opportunity to witness world’s 10th tallest mountain Mt. Annapurna from its foothill.
Journey of Annapurna Circuit Trek normally ends in Pokhara. Whereas Annapurna Base Camp Trek also famously known as ABC trek starts from Pokhara. Walking starts from either Nayapool or Birethanti.
After the opening of roads up to Hille and Ghandruk Station most trekkers start their trekking from these places as well. Walking through green lush forests of rhododendron, pines and oaks trekkers reach the vast high hill open area of Ghorepani. Panoramic view of mountains would help trekkers forget all pain endured while ascending the steep uphill trail.
Early in the morning trekkers trek uphill from Ghorepani for about 2 hours to reach Poon Hill. The place is popular for gazing sunrise in the Himalayas. The first ray of sun kissing the tip of mountain is worth watching gleefully. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Neelgiri, Himchuli etc. mountains glow quintessentially.
The place is truly a photographer’s paradise.
Within the Annapurna Base Camp Trek you can get alternative short trekking route in the form of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. The trekking can be completed within a week time including arrival in Nepal and departure from Nepal.
ABC Trek moves further from Tadapani but the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek returns either via Ghorepani or via Ghandruk village. People can witness mountains, forests and Gurung community village during this short trekking route of Annapurna region.
From Poon Hill trekkers trek past places like Tadapani, Deurali, Sinuwa and Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Finally in the sanctuary of mountains Annapurna Base Camp welcomes all. The route is also called as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek.

It can cure some skin diseases as well.
